Project Open Door

What are these trainings about?

Opening the door to community partnerships for juvenile justice, Project OpenDoor is an online participatory-based research training program for individuals involved in the juvenile justice community. The training program includes a module for teens, a module for guardians, and a module for probation officers and other probation staff. Each program covers things like the history of participatory research, the role people in the community can take in the research process, ethical issues in research, and the skills needed to be actively involved in research. The training programs include audio-delivered content, interactive activities, and short quizzes that help learners to develop a deep understanding of participatory research. The online format allows for flexibility and accessibility, making the training program ideal for individuals who are interested in participating in research but may not have the time or resources to attend in-person training programs. The goal of the program is to give people the power to actively participate in research and help improve their community.
